MUR460G ultra fast rectifier for use in switch mode power supplies. This 400V, 6A rectifier is commonly used in many switching power supplies although can be used for any general purpose application. The diode is rated at 400V with a maximum forward current of 6A. This diode can also be used to replace the MUR420 and MUR440 which are 2A and 4A versions respectively.

It is not uncommon for this diode to become short circuit in many types of power supply so replacement is often necessary. A typical example is the Vestel 17PW-07 LED television power supply which uses this diode in component position D111. It is common for this component to become short circuit leading to a dead set. In this particular case failure of D111 can also lead to the demise of IC100 the FAN7529M power factor controller IC which can be purchased separately,
