Description
3 pack of clear / transparent lamp for 20 light mains operated sets. The
lamp style is a conical or tulip lamp with a 12V 3W rating.
This lamp
was commonly used in Pifco, Lyvia and Dencon light sets. It doesn't
matter what brand your lights are, as long as the specified replacement
is a 12V 3W type with an E12 thread.
The E12 thread type relates to the diameter of the thread crests, i.e. the distance between the crest of threads on each side of the lamp. Some lamps are E10 so be careful that you measure your lamps before ordering. Most of the older 20 light sets use this E12 lamp which is now quite a difficult lamp to source.
Let's look at the lamp specification:
- Lamp type: E12 Incandescent Tulip / Conical lamp
- Colour: Clear / Transparent
- Lamp Voltage 12V AC or DC
- Lamp Power: 3W
- Lamp Current: Typically 0.25A, 250mA
- Thread Size: E12
- Lamps Supplied: 3
Here's some useful
lamp advice. When the lamps are in service keep your eye on them as this
lamp like the ones you already have normally fail to a short circuit.
In a series light set this keeps all the other lamps on but it means
that the 12V dropped across the failed lamp is divided amongst all the
others. The more that fail then the more strain is on the others so keep
your eyes peeled for lamps that are out and get them changed quickly.
This lamp has a 12mm diameter thread, please check your size before ordering. When measuring with a ruler the E12 lamps have a thread diameter which appears to be around 10-11mm whilst E10 lamps appear to have a thread diameter of around 8-9mm.

Packaging
Sorry to say the packaging was very poor. How they survived I don't know. 6 bulbs just rattling around in a jiffy bag is not sufficient.
