LG V7 Repair Kit 6871VSNB03E Full 3 Board Kit

This is a complete repair kit suitable for any plasma television using an LG V7 PDP, (plasma display panel), unit. Many manufacturers use the LG V7 PDP unit as the screen for their televisions. The PDP unit is basically the main screen assembly and fitted onto the screen are two scanning boards and a controller board. The manufacturer fits onto the PDP their own power supply and video board. This gives the television its own personality as designed by the manufacturer.

Commonly failure of the scanning boards, also known as the Y sustain and X sustain boards, will cause a sound and no picture symptom. It may even appear as the set is not starting as no input is present on the AV mode selected. Failure of the Y sustain board is by far the most common. This kit is as supplied by LG for engineers to use for repairs. We are making this available to anyone who wishes to purchase but you should only do so if you are knowledgable in repairing electrical equipment. The degree of difficulty in fitting the boards will vary from model to model. Sometimes the boards are mounted underneath another board or are underneath a support strut.

In general the ease of fitting is as follows:

• y sustain board - Moderately difficult, you need to loosen the upper and lower Y drive board and video board. A strut may be in the way
• X sustain board - Very easy though a support strut may be in the way and you need to be careful with the flat cables
• Controller board - A difficult job as you need to remove the video pcb and there are many flat cables which you need to be carefull with

It is recommended that both scanning boards are replaced but it is not always necessary to replace the controller board. The controller board rarely fails and in some cases the controller board will not be compatible with the video board fitted as the set in question may not be LG branded. You need to check it by replacement. In most cases no adjustments are required though it may be necessary to slightly adjust, ( no more than ten degrees), the Vset up and V set down controls on the Y sustain pcb to reduce spots in the picture. Adjust only after the set has warmed up for ten minutes.

The part number of the complete kit is 6871VSNB03E. In order to identify if this kit is suitable for your repair you need to identify the PDP unit fitted by opening the set and reading the white label at the top of the panel. There are various models which can be repaired with this kit and the following is a list of models known to us at this moment in time:

In addition you can check the part numbers on the boards themselves which will be as follows:

• 6871QYH036D - Y Sustain Board
• 6871QZH041B - Z Sustain Board
• 6871QCH053G - Control Board

It is likely that the boards in your set may have a different letter at the end eg, 6871QYH036B. This does not matter, the board supplied is a newer version.

There are two other boards that this kit is compatible with. They may in some instances be fitted your V7 PDP. They are completely interchangeable with what is supplied in this kit.

• 6871QYH045B - Y Sustain Board
• 6871QZH049A - Z Sustain Board

Again, on your board, the letter at the end of the part number may be different, this merely indicates a later or earlier version of the board. There are various photographs shown in this listing which clearly show the part numbers you need to look for on the panels in your set. If they match minus the end letter then this kit is for you.
