Description
This is a complete CD mechanism suitable
for replacement in many Sanyo, Philips, Pioneer and Alba models. This is a Sanyo
part but this mechanism will fit into many other brands of CD players
and HiFi's as many manufacturers use the SF-P101N laser.
Please note
however that there are two versions of the SF-P101N laser. One has 16
pins on the lasers ribbon connector and the other has 15 pins. The 15
pin type is what is supplied here but please note that this is the less commonly used version. It's mainly the 16 pin version that is used. It's easy to determine what type you have, just count the number of pins on the laser connector. There will be either 15 pins or 16 pins. See our shop for the 16 pin version as this is the most common type. The 16 pin and 15
pin versions are not interchangeable.
The SF-P101N laser as fitted to this
mechanism crops up in lots of different brands of CD players and HiFi's.
The laser type number is stamped onto the casing of the laser. So if
you have an SF-P101N stamped on your faulty laser then this is the
mechanism for you. Just count the number of pins on the lasers connector to determine the number of pins presnt, there will be 15 or 16 pins.
If you have a CD player or HiFi with a
defective SF-P101N laser then you can replace this entire mechanism,
this will provide an extremely effective repair as all the moving parts
in the CD reading mechanism get replaced.
This mechanism includes the following:
- Chassis Base
- SF-P101N Laser / Optical Pick Assembly / Genuine Sanyo Part
- Spindle Motor
- Sled Motor
- Nylon Driving Gears
- Slide Rods
If the mechanism in your machine is
different though uses an SF-P101N then you can easily remove the laser
from this mechanism and fit into your unit.
This item is used in our own workshop for
repairs and we are making it available for those who wish to repair
their own CD player. Only to be purchased by those competent in the
repair of electrical equipment.
The fitting of this part is generally quite easy. If you are not confident about changing the whole mechanism then it is perfectly acceptable to remove the laser as previously mentioned for fitting into your unit. There is only one important point to note. The laser as supplied new has a solder link in place to protect the it from static electricity damage. You need to remove this small link with a soldering iron or sharp knife. This is shown in the last picture of this listing. It is to the left of the connector on the laser. The laser is also fitted with a protective plastic cover. This simply unclips and is to be discarded after fitting the mechanism in place.
