Vestel 30071121 Mains Line Filter For LED Television Power Supply, 17IPS20

​Vestel mains input filter for LED back light television power supplies.

The filter part number is 30071121 and this is normally printed on the underside of the coil when removed from the PCB.

The coil is wired in the mains input circuit and passes both the live and neutral AC to the bridge rectifier of the power supply.

Sometimes the coil windings break down under load and cause a short circuit across the mains supply. Normally this will result in the mains input fuse failing which is often a 3.15A pcb mounted wickman type.

If you have a dead Vestel LED television with a blown fuse and no obvious short circuit then carefully check the mains filter coils. Often you will notice burning on the windings. A cold check normally doesn't show a short circuit but under load the windings break down causing a short circuit.

This coil is fitted to many Vestel power supplies such as the 17IPS71 and the 17IPS20. The circuit references for the 17IPS20 power supply are LF100 and LF101. The circuit reference numbers on other power supplies maybe different. The coils are however easily identifiable by the appearance and the part number 30071121 printed on the underside.

Some power supplies have two filters wired in series whist other power supplies have just the one fitted.

Replacement of the coils and the wickman fuse makes the repair to the power supply very cost effective and gets your TV working again.
