Description

Bussman quality 10 pack of glass antisurge / time delay cartridge fuses for various applications.

Choose the value that you require from T0.5A - T10A  This particular type of fuse is a slow blow or anti surge type. The fuse has a voltage rating of 250V which means it can be used in any application where the line or mains voltage does not exceed 250V AC or DC. This type of fuse is commonly used in the mains input circuit of many different consumer electronic appliances such as televisions, hifi, computers and many more.

When the mains voltage is applied to an electrical appliance then a high transient current can flow which could cause a traditional fast blow fuse to fail. Use of this type of fuse helps prevent unwanted failure at switch on. A constant average current flow higher than the fuse rating will however cause the fuse to fail and safely stop the flow of the fault current.

The fuse designation can sometimes have a T or L symbol on the value printed on the fuse cap before or after the fuse value.

Let's look closer at the fuse specification:

  • Fuse rating T0.5A - T10A, 250V
  • Fuse Type: Slow Blow / Time lag / AntiSurge
  • Fuse length: 20mm
  • Fuse Diameter: 5mm

This fuse  is often to be found in the mains input circuit of electrical appliances though is often used in the low voltage side of a power supply. The fuse rating is stamped on one of the silver fuse caps. You may find this fuse in the following:

  • Television
  • HiFi
  • VCR
  • Satellite Receiver
  • Washing Machine
  • Microwave Oven
  • DVD Player
  • Computer Monitor
  • Many Other Applainces
