Philex Modular Extension Telephone Socket Half Width 25mm x 50mm Black and Label

Half width black snap in modular extension / secondary telephone socket for modular boxes.

The socket plate is 25mm in width and 50mm in height which is exactly half the size of a standard 50mm x 50mm modular faceplate.

The overall depth is 19mm and a back box with a minimum clearance of 16mm is required though 25mm is recommended for ease of wiring.

The blank plate is ideal for applications where only one module is fitted to a box.

The extension sockets are black and are supplied by Philex. The Philex part code is 70424BK.

This socket is generally used in networking applications where network modules are fitted to a modular box along with a BT telephone socket.

The sockets however can be used regardless of what other type of half width module may be fitted to a modular box.

The sockets have a useful removeable perspex cover and paper label so that the socket can be marked with an identifier. Also supplied are clip on red and blue circuit markers for extra identification or customisation.

Cable termination is the standard BT clip in type so a Krone / IDC tool will be required. To connect properly use the standard wiring convention of the orange wire pair to connections 2 and 5 of the master socket and connections 2 and 5 of this extension socket in parallel using the blue pair. Additionally pin 3 should be connected using the Orange with White at all extensions and leading back to pin 3 of the master socket.

Wiring instructions are supplied on the packaging.

Please note that this socket is the extension / secondary version. It cannot be connected as the master which is the first socket in the circuit that is connected to the incoming telephone wires.
